Walker Harris
Owner & Founder
With more than 30 years of experience in custom building and development, Walker is experienced and well-versed in all facets of construction and design. A graduate of UNC-Chapel Hill with a BA in Economics, he launched Chase Building Company in 1997 and has not only completed countless homes and projects but has also developed numerous prominent residential neighborhoods and builder land tracts. He is a Certified Building Performance Analyst and has earned recognition in customer satisfaction and innovative design.
Josh Quinlan
Project and Design Manager
Josh is a NASCLA (National Association of State Contractors Licensing Agencies) accredited general contractor with extensive on-site construction experience. Before coming to Chase Building Company, Josh completed a year of service as an AmeriCorps National Member and worked as a Site Supervisor for Habitat for Humanity. He has a passion for home and space design and enjoys anything outdoors. When he is not working, he is deeply involved with the Reality Center, a community space for people with and without disabilities.
Phen Harris
Pre-construction Manager
Phen grew up knowing he wanted to be in construction. He attended Auburn University and graduated from the prestigious College of Architecture, Design, and Construction with a degree in Building Science. Prior to Chase, Phen spent 4 years working for Brasfield & Gorrie, one of the Southeast's largest privately held commercial contractors and developers. As Pre-Construction Manager, Phen’s focus is on estimating and budgets for every project. Outside of work, he enjoys just about anything outdoors.
Biff Hardister
Project Manager
With over 15 years of residential building experience, Biff takes a hands-on approach to the day-to-day operations of our job sites, ensuring every aspect meets our highest quality standards. He is passionate about building trusted relationships with clients and subcontractors alike. His relationship-based approach with homeowners fosters engagement and transparency, keeping everyone informed, involved, and comfortable throughout the entire building process. During his free time, Biff enjoys time with his family, particularly traveling with his kids to play soccer.
John Owen
Project Manager
With a degree in Sales and Marketing from Appalachian State University, John brings a fresh approach to the business side of our work and a sincere appreciation for client satisfaction. Whether breaking ground on a new project, punching out a finished home, or taking a call for a warranty question, John’s “can do” attitude and desire to go above and beyond are infectious. When he is not working, you will likely find him fishing off the coast of NC.
Dave Darville
Project Manager
After moving to North Carolina, Dave thought he might retire his contractor's license. He soon realized that his talents and experience were a great complement to the work at Chase Building Company. Dave has a critical eye for detail and a high standard for quality. His years of experience working with homeowners, trades, and timelines make him the perfect fit for Chase. In his free time, Dave is often traveling with his wife to visit their growing clan of grandchildren.
Ashley Messick
Selections Coordinator
Ashley works closely with everyone in their home-building journey and keeps the process moving toward the finish line. Her superior organization and time management skills help our clients navigate the selections process while staying on time and on budget. The decisions required when building a home can feel overwhelming to many clients, but Ashley is there to make the process run smoothly and, more importantly, keep it fun. Her favorite place to spend her free time is on the NC Coast with her family.
Sandy Phillips
Accounting
Sandy oversees all aspects of our financial operations, from managing cash flow and balance sheets to handling vendor accounts, taxes, and employee benefits. Her meticulous approach ensures the smooth functioning of your project and our business. Sandy enjoys time with her family when she is not working; but to be honest, we think she is always working.
